When it comes to professional headshots and branding photography - you don’t have to conform to the “status quo” look for your industry. This was how my conversation started with Robert Travieso, of Travieso Law Firm. During our initial consultation, we discussed all the stereotypes that he wanted to avoid with his branding images – think Interstate Billboard with the intimidating grizzly-looking lawyer rolling up his sleeves!
Yes, we have all seen something along those lines, in practically every city in the US. And having a far better sense of style and judgement then to falter to those standards, Robert put his trust in me.
Like most of my headshots clients, he knew that first and foremost he wanted to come across as PROFESSIONAL and APPROACHABLE. We decided on a plan for Downtown Jacksonville. He needed that ONE quintessential Courthouse shot, but otherwise he was open to incorporating a mix of colors and city scenes into his session.
We weren't going for anything too crazy here, after all it is important to come across as a serious professional, but it goes to show that you don't have to rely on the same old tropes that you may commonly see in your industry. I personally try to avoid the crossed-arm look with ALL of my clients - some poses are best left in the past.
We spent roughly two and half hours with Robert, walking around downtown Jacksonville and San Marco to some spots we had picked out in advance of our session. We had a great time, and are so excited to have created some fantastic images for Travieso Law Firm!
